Elizabethtown Area School District board removes books from curriculum

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – The Elizabethtown Area School District board of directors is working to update the lesson material for English classes, including what works students will read.

The board voted to move forward without “The Hate U Give,” by Angie Thomas; “The Glass Castle,” by Jeannette Walls; “The House on Mango Street,” by Sandra Cisneros; “Daddy” by Sylvia Plath; and the 1996 “Romeo + Juliet” movie.
