Police warn travelers of rise in bus violations in Cumberland County

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Authorities are reminding citizens to obey school bus traffic laws amid a recent rise in violations in Cumberland County.

The Lower Allen Township Police Department announced that since the West Shore School District adopted its BusPatrol automated school bus violation program, it has witnessed dozens of school bus violations, particularly in the area of Gettysburg Road near Hatzdale Drive in Cumberland County.

Video footage collected by police depicts six vehicles passing a school bus with its stop sign activated as children exit the bus, which officials say occurs almost daily at that location.
