Harrisburg Bureau of Fire gets 40% funding increase from state budget

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Harrisburg’s firefighters will be getting a massive funding boost after the signing of the Pennsylvania state budget.

Last week, Governor Josh Shapiro signed off on new state funding for the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire. The department will see its funding increase from $5 million to $7 million under the 2025-26 state budget.
