STEELTON, Pa. (WHTM) — Steelton will have its third police chief in just over three years as the borough grapples with violent crime.
Mayor Ciera Dent swore in Shawki Lacey a interim police chief Monday. Lacey is a Milton Hershey School graduate and previously served as a detective for the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office and the sergeant of the Criminal Investigation Division within the Susquehanna Township Police Department.
Chief Bill Shaub will retire on Dec. 2 after 30 years with the department. He became police chief in 2022 when his predecessor moved to the West Shore Regional Police Department after six years in the position.
