Electric rates will rise Dec. 1 for Met-Ed and PPL customers, PUC says

York County residents should brace for higher electric bills starting Dec. 1, according to a news release. The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission announced seasonal price changes for all regulated utilities, including Met-Ed and PPL — two of the largest providers in the region.

Met-Ed’s “Price to Compare” for residential customers will jump nearly 9%, from 11.905 cents to 12.965 cents per kilowatt-hour. PPL customers will see a smaller increase of about 3.7%, from 12.49 cents to 12.953 cents per kilowatt-hour…
