Public comment window opens for PUC plan to grapple with data centers, ‘large-load users’

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission took another step this week toward addressing the growth of what they call “large-load” power customers, like data centers.

Earlier this month, the regulatory agency adopted a tentative order proposing a model tariff for large-load customers, like data centers and other high-demand electric users.

The order had to be published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin, triggering a 30-day public comment window. That publication took place this week and the public comment period runs through Dec. 22…
