EAST PROSPECT, Pa. — East Prospect Fire Company will officially shut down at the end of the year, ending more than 115 years of service in York County. For generations, the department has been a constant presence in the borough — and residents say the news came as a complete shock.
“I thought they did a lot for the community. They have fundraisers and things, so it was kind of a shock,” said East Prospect resident Kim Sipe.
