DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Crews were called to a Dauphin County laboratory for a fire Monday afternoon.

Numerous companies, including Steelton Fire, West Shore Bureau of Fire, Swatara Fire-Rescue, and others, rushed to the McCreath Laboratories along Bobali Drive in Swatara Township after being dispatched for a reported building fire just after 3 p.m.

The HAZMAT Team also quickly arrived and was able to monitor the area, finding there is no danger to anyone outside, Swatara Fire-Rescue Chief Michael Ibberson said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

McCreath Laboratories inspects, samples, and performs analytical chemistry for various industries, and was founded in 1977, according to its website.

Smoke could be seen rising in the air and surrounding a McCreath Laboratories building. The extent of the damage is unclear at this time, but there is visible fire damage on the roof of one building.
