Waynesboro PD execute search warrant on W Second Street home, find wanted fugitive in a literal hole in the wall

WAYNESBORO- A man wanted on warrants out of Cumberland County is back behind bars after allegedly being found and then running through the Borough of Waynesboro in October. Isaiah Jeffrey Shifler remains incarcerated in Franklin County Jail after failing to post bail of $5,000 following charges levied against him of misdemeanor evading arrest on foot and felony criminal trespassing.

In addition to the most recent case against him, Shifler faces charges of felony theft, felony firearm carried without a license, and felony person not to possess firearms in Cumberland County, which is set to see pretrial conferences scheduled in early January of 2026.

On October 29th, Waynesboro PD officers were talking internally in their station about the fact that Shifler was facing multiple active arrest warrants, including one that is full extradition through Cumberland County as well as an uncharged and alleged theft incident at an undetermined time…
