(WHTM)–United States Secretary of Education Linda McMahon visited Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on Thursday.
The visit was one of the first stops of the U.S. Department of Education’s “History Rocks! Trail to Independence Tour.” Secretary McMahon and other education leaders embarked on their trip to visit schools in all 50 states as the U.S. prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary.
The school visit aims to recognize excellence in civics education and promote the founding and history of America’s national principles, according to the Department of Education.
