Man trying to warm self in Harrisburg homeless encampment dies after tent catches fire

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — A homeless man has died after police said it appears his propane tank caught fire in an encampment in Harrisburg.

The man was reportedly trying to warm himself using the heater inside his tent on Friday afternoon. The “pop-up” encampment he was living in was reportedly off South Cameron Street in the city.

He was not residing in Amiracle Community, the designated lot for Harrisburg’s homeless population purchased by Dauphin County…
