Four years after the killing of a 16-year-old a few blocks from his Lebanon home, one of two charged suspects remains on the loose, keeping the case out of the courtroom and making the victim’s mom wonder if she will ever get justice.
Police charged two teenagers — Jaedyn Gaines, 17, and Jayden Pagan, 15 — in the Oct. 27, 2021 killing of Omar Rodriguez that happened at 3:30 p.m., just after school let out at 6th and Lehman streets.
Gaines was arrested days after the shooting, charged with criminal homicide and conspiracy to commit homicide. He later pleaded guilty. But Pagan, currently 18 or 19 years old, immediately went on the run and has successfully dodged authorities for more than four years, with help from unknown abetters, authorities said…
