A week following the collapse of a wall at the Broad Street Market’s brick building, Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams’ spokeswoman said the building should have been torn down following the 2023 fire.
Mischelle Moyer made the comment to three reporters during a weekly press briefing Monday morning. She said nothing formally had been decided as structural engineers, architects, and geo technicians examine alternative methods to renovate the building.
Moyer said she would try to find out for reporters from the mayor what are “the next steps for the market? Are we taking the whole thing down or what are we doing? Which we should have done from day one. But the historical people get all up in arms when you just level something.”…
