Harrisburg’s tallest skyscraper is getting a second life as senior housing

The city’s tallest building will be going through a period of transformation in 2026.

The massive 22-story, 257,615-square-foot building was home to a variety of tenants over the years including state offices for more than two decades, a liquor store that recently shut down, a TV station’s Harrisburg hub and a sneaker store.

But prominent Harrisburg developer Brad Jones, CEO of Harristown Development Corporation, which owns the skyscraper, sees the nearly-empty building as an opportunity to develop new senior living housing…
