York County fire company takes to social media after driver ruins hose

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A York County fire company has one wish for its community, and that is not to run over its hose.

This may seem like common sense to some, but there were two recent incidents where drivers tried to cross over York Area United Fire and Rescue’s hose while at emergency scenes.

The first time was when drivers tried to go over a supply line that firefighters were stretching across the roadway, the fire company wrote in a Facebook post. Then, during the second incident, the hose was damaged when a driver tried going over it and struck a coupling, which ripped the vehicle’s oil pan off. Three parts of the hose were damaged and soaked in oil, making it unusable…
