Mayor Williams considering legal action against City Council amid board payment controversy

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams said she is considering pursuing legal action against City Council over allegedly defunding positions on her board without legal consent.

Mayor Williams said in a press conference on Tuesday that the City Council voted to defund numerous positions on her board without legal consent, including business administrators, economic development managers, and community service directors.

“One of these positions, the business administrator, is a statutory position under city code,” said Williams. “It is not optional. It is not symbolic. It is required for the lawful operation of the city government.”…
