Brief but intense snow squalls expected to ring in New Year across central Pa.

With 2026 just hours away, forecasters are calling for snow showers and squalls throughout central Pennsylvania into New Year’s Day.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for several counties, including Dauphin, Cumberland, Adams, York, Lancaster, Perry, Franklin and Lebanon. Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata and Fulton counties are also included in the outlook.

A line of snow showers and squalls is expected to push through the region during the evening hours of New Year’s Eve. Hazardous weather conditions should end Thursday…
