All but 1 cut by Harrisburg City Council start new year without jobs

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Harrisburg let go three of the four positions defunded by city council as Mayor Wanda Williams (D) continues to threaten legal action.

Council cut funding in the 2026 budget for the interim director for building and housing development, interim business administrator, project director for business development/LERTA administrator and director of community engagement and relations. While Williams vetoed those cuts, council later voted 5-2 to override her veto.
