HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — An “altercation” that may have involved a gun sent a Harrisburg elementary school into a lockdown Tuesday, according to the district.
The incident that sent Melrose Elementary School into lockdown during dismissal did not originate on school grounds but reportedly made its way there, according to a Harrisburg School District spokesperson.
Someone reported the “possibility of a gun being involved,” the spokesperson said. The lockdown was initiated out of an abundance of caution and students were brought back into the building.
