YORK, Pa. — A Harrisburg man has been charged in connection to two bank robberies in Lancaster and York counties last year.
- Shannon Steckbeck, 59, robbed a Truist Bank location in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County on Nov. 14, and a week later struck again at a First National Bank branch in Manchester Township, York County, authorities claim in charging documents.
In the first case, Steckbeck entered the North Reading Road bank shortly before 3 p.m., approached a teller, and demanded she give him money from her cash drawer.
The teller initially thought Steckbeck was joking, according to police. But Steckbeck repeated his intent to rob the bank and his demand for cash.
After the teller complied, he fled from the scene, according to East Cocalico Township Police. Multiple witnesses reported spotting a man matching his description getting into a black Volkswagen sedan parked about a block from the bank and driving off…
