Life-Threatening Shooting Follows Street Fight In Columbia Borough

The incident happened on the first block of South Sixth Street when patrol officers were dispatched for a reported shooting at about 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, Columbia Borough Police said.

When officers arrived, they found two adult men in the street who had been involved in a physical altercation, according to police. During the fight, one man fired a handgun at the other, striking him and causing life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Both men were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment, police said. Investigators noted the men are known to each other and said the shooting was not random, adding there is no threat to the general public…
