The killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis by an ICE agent sparked outrage and protests nationally and has prompted local officials to consider their involvement with federal immigration agents.
Harrisburg City Council member Robert Lawson called for a moment of silence at the opening of its meeting this week.
“I would like to take a moment just to think of individuals right now who may be feeling a little uneasy with what’s been happening in our nation, especially those of our immigrant communities, whether they be documented or undocumented,” Lawson said. “Right now, a lot of people are feeling a lot of unease, and we want to give them a moment of solidarity.”…
