Becky LaBarre takes helm at Cornwall Iron Furnace

Becky LaBarre has been named the new site administrator at Cornwall Iron Furnace, a National Historic Landmark.

LaBarre served as executive director of Renfrew Museum and Park in Waynesboro from 2019 to 2024.

LaBarre’s new role started Jan. 13, according to a community announcement from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. She now oversees day-to-day operations and visitor services at the historic site, which operated from 1742 to 1883 as a charcoal cold-blast iron furnace.

LaBarre brings two decades of experience

LaBarre is a seasoned museum professional with experience administering National Historic Landmark and National Register properties in Michigan, Illinois and Pennsylvania, according to the announcement.
