HARRISBURG, Pa. — Students, staff and other faculty at Pennsylvania STEAM Academy rallied together on Friday to support a student after her mother unexpectedly die earlier this year.
“Unfortunately, we had a tragedy in our school community, we had a young lady that lost her mother and funerals are quite expensive and as a school community we really pride ourselves on teaching our students empathy and giving back and being part of a solution,” explained Jannifer Morrison, CEO and Principal of the school.
“So today our solution is our students and our faculty and our families have been baking lots of baked good, we have some hot sandwiches, homemade cinnamon rolls, it helps we have two professional bakers as part of our school community, we will be selling these goodies on our sidewalk on arrival and this afternoon at dismissal we will be selling lots and lots of homemade soup, perfect for the snowstorm that’s on the way,” Morrison continued…
