Drone footage shows dramatic rescue of hiker from Cumberland Co. trail after snowstorm

BOILING SPRINGS, Pa. — Drone footage shows crews rescuing an injured hiker from White Rocks Acres Trail in Cumberland County.

At 5:45 p.m. on Monday, Monroe Fire Company was dispatched to White Rocks Acres Trail for an injured hiker on the trail. According to Monroe Fire Company’s Facebook, the hiker was an hour away from the trail head.

Due to the snowstorm, additional resources were requested to help pull off the rescue, including Team 4400. The Unmanned Aircraft Systems Team, Team 4400, is equipped with two DJI Mavic M30T drones that assist fire and police operations including search and rescue, structure fires, wildfires, hazmat incidents, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, and 3D model reconstruction, according to the Cumberland County website…
