Pa. State Rep. Seth Grove resigns

Pennsylvania State Representative Seth Grove (R-York) announced Wednesday that he will resign from the House of Representatives effective January 31, 2026. Grove’s decision comes after facing intense criticism from colleagues and ethics advocates over his dual role as a sitting lawmaker and the newly appointed CEO of the Pennsylvania Aggregates and Concrete Association (PACA). While Pennsylvania law allows legislators to maintain outside employment, critics argued that leading a trade group that lobbies the state government created an insurmountable conflict of interest, particularly given Grove’s position as the Republican Chair of the Labor & Industry Committee.

In his resignation statement, Grove described his 17 years of service representing York County as the “honor of a lifetime” but did not directly address the controversy surrounding his private-sector role.
