LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — During takeoff, the pilot of the plane that crashed in Lititz last March said he heard a loud “pop” and was unsure what it was before realizing the cabin door had opened.
The small aircraft sustained substantial damage when it crashed into the Brethren Village Retirement Community parking lot March 9, 2025, seriously injuring the pilot and a passenger. The pilot, Matthew White, immediately began trying to find a place to land as the plane started shaking but could not remember what happened next.
