Central PA counties under Code Orange air quality conditions for Valentine’s Day weekend

SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection declared Saturday as a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for several counties in the Susquehanna Valley.

Dauphin, Cumberland, Lebanon, Lancaster and York counties are being affected by fine particle pollution, the DEP said in a release.

The DEP said concentrations will likely decrease in the afternoon, but parts of the area will see average daily concentrations within the Code Orange range (PM 2.5)…
