Pennsylvania’s state budget will balance out fine this year; there’s $8 billion in the rainy day fund to cover any gaps. The savings are dwindling swiftly though and all politicians want to avoid tax increases in the future.
If no new revenue policies are enacted, Gov. Josh Shapiro’s $53.2 billion proposal spends around $6.7 billion more than what the state could make in revenue, according to the Pennsylvania Independent Fiscal Office.
