Carlisle nursing home employee accused of Amazon shopping with resident’s debit card

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A woman working at a Carlisle nursing home has been accused of making Amazon purchases in December with stolen debit card information from a resident, according to a news release.

On Dec. 13, 2025, Carlisle Borough police said it received a report of fraudulent debit card charges from a resident at Thornwald Nursing Home on Walnut Bottom Road.

In the release, the police said a family member was reviewing the resident’s bank statements and found multiple Amazon transactions that the resident said they didn’t authorize. The debit card in question was said to still be in their possession and was only kept for emergencies…
