SHIPPENSBURG- A formal arraignment is awaiting a Gettysburg man accused of stealing almost $2,500 in items from a Shippensburg church. Jason Anthony Moore remains incarcerated in Cumberland County Prison on $110,000 bail after being charged with felony burglary, felony criminal trespassing, and felony theft of movable property. His formal arraignment is scheduled for April 27th.
On Tuesday, July 8th of 2025, Cumberland County 911 would receive a non-active burglary at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church on E Burd Street in Shippensburg Borough. Responding police would meet with the pastor and staff, finding that a male had entered the church overnight through an unlocked door and stole numerous items. Included in the theft, they say, were two laptops, a drill/battery, and the master set of keys to the church.
Ironically, police would be able to obtain security camera footage of the incident and say that they were able to make out a tattoo on the thief’s arm with the word PSALMS in it. Additionally, another tattoo was seen but not identified on the thief’s forearm…
