Gas and diesel prices soar ‘at one of the fastest rates in years’ and may go higher

Gas prices have soared at one of the fastest rates in years as a result of the U.S. attack on Iran and tightening of the oil supply.

“The last time the national average made a similar weekly jump was back in March of 2022 during the start of the Russia/Ukraine conflict,” according to AAA.

The average price per gallon increased almost 54 cents in one week in the Harrisburg area, according to GasBuddy. In many places in the United States, GasBuddy says prices could increase another 20 cents to 50 cents per gallon…
