18-year-old Adams County man ID’d as soldier killed at Letterkenny

The U.S. Army soldier who died this week following a training incident at Letterkenny Army Depot in Franklin County has been identified as Pfc. Krystofer Lopez, 18, of Biglerville, according to a news release.

“The entire Letterkenny family is heartbroken by the loss of Pfc. Krystofer Lopez. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family, friends, and fellow Soldiers during this incredibly difficult time,” said Col. Caleb Lewis, Letterkenny Army Depot commander. “Krystofer was a valued member of our team, and his dedication to our nation’s defense was evident to all who worked alongside him.

Lopez was injured during a training exercise at the military installation near Chambersburg in Franklin County at about 9:30 a.m. March 12. He received immediate medical attention and was transported to WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, where he passed away…
