Upper Dauphin community considers ordinance to regulate data centers

GRATZ, Pa. (WHTM) — As data center plans continue to proliferate across Pennsylvania, an upper Dauphin community is considering regulations in case they choose to locate there.

Gratz Borough Council will consider adopting zoning amendments on Wednesday, April 8, at 7 p.m. at the municipal building on 125 North Center Street.

Blackstone acquires majority stake in Lancaster County company

They are considering an ordinance to add regulations to the borough’s zoning ordinance pertaining to data centers.

The ordinance, as published on the borough’s website, adds definitions for what a data center is and regulations for where they can be built and various other regulations pertaining to setbacks, noise levels and more…
