HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — The City of Harrisburg has reached a settlement with the city’s former public works director, who had sued the mayor over claims of wrongful termination and nepotism.
The suit was initially filed Sept. 20, 2022, by Nathaniel Spriggs, who claimed he was wrongfully terminated and accused Mayor Wanda Williams of pressuring him to promote her son to a position Spriggs believed he was not qualified to hold.
The suit further accused Williams of using her position as mayor to create a taxpayer-funded jobs program for her family, something the mayor denied during a press conference in March of 2025. Williams had said her son worked for the city for 10 years, “long before” she took office…
