Northern York County Regional Police officer dies after battle with cancer

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Northern York County Regional Police officer has died after a battle with cancer, the police department announced Monday.

Matthew Straub, 55, passed away Sunday, March 22, following 14 years of service to the Northern York County Regional Police Department.

“Throughout his career, he exemplified professionalism, integrity, and a quiet commitment to doing the job the right way,” the police department wrote in a Facebook post. “He was a dependable presence on patrol, a supportive partner to his fellow officers, and someone who carried out his duties with humility and compassion.”…
