Man pleads no contest to charges he shook girlfriend’s infant to death in Perry County

A Harrisburg man accused of violently shaking a baby to death has entered a no contest plea in Perry County court.

Eriezer Melendez, 38, of Harrisburg, was charged with third-degree murder of his girlfriend’s infant child on Nov. 14, 2024, inside the woman’s grandmother’s Newport home.

He told police the baby fell off his lap before he shook her in an attempt to wake her, Pennsylvania State Police said…
