‘Role model’ Harrisburg School District leader keeps her job, for now

After a more than three-hour meeting, with nearly twenty people offering public comment, Harrisburg School Board Assistant Superintendent Marisol Craig will stay in her position for one year, even though the school board didn’t vote to retain her.

The vote to notify Craig — the only senior female school district official who is Hispanic — that other applicants would be considered for her position ended in a tie, because board member Terricia Radcliff was absent.

School board president Roslyn Copeland and board members Jaime Johnson, Danielle Robinson and Ellis Roy voted against the action, while vice president Autumn Anderson, members Brian Carter, Annie Hughes and Doug Thompson Leader voted for the action. Roy and Robinson attended the meeting virtually…
