Anyone who’s worked a Friday night shift at a busy bar knows what a cash drawer looks like by last call. Crumpled bills stuffed in the wrong slots, a stack of ones from someone’s round of Yuenglings, a short count nobody can explain in the morning.

Cash is not simple, and it never was.

That reality makes two proposals in Harrisburg, HB 2090 and SB 1202, all the more baffling. These two bills moving through the General Assembly could make small business owners like me do more business with cash and less on cards — and nobody I know was asking for this…
