HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) — A toddler was injured at ZooAmerica in Hershey, Pennsylvania Saturday morning after officials there say they crawled under a fence and came close to the wolf habitat.
In a statement to Nexstar’s abc27 News, a Hershey Entertainment and Resorts spokesperson confirmed that the incident happened Saturday morning and the 18-month-old child suffered minor injuries.
“Based on our review, an unsupervised 18-month old child was able to crawl under an exterior perimeter fence, travel to the primary metal enclosure surrounding the wolf habitat, and put his hand through that fence,” the spokesperson said. “A wolf approached and made contact with the child’s hand. This type of response is consistent with natural animal behavior, and was not a sign of aggression.”…
