Pennsylvania woman sentenced for IRS fraud in Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – A York, Pennsylvania woman was sentenced to more than 13 years in prison for running a scheme that stole more than $2 million from the federal government through fake tax filings.

A federal judge sentenced 45-year-old Queen Naja on April 15. She was convicted of conspiracy to commit mail fraud. The court also ordered her to pay back more than $2 million and serve three years of supervised release after leaving prison.

Court records show Naja reached out to Quentin Diego Sturgeon from Montgomery through social media in April 2021 with a plan to steal money from the Internal Revenue Service. The two set up a fake legal trust, filed false tax documents and submitted a fraudulent payment to trick the IRS into sending them a refund they weren’t owed.
