Coastal Flooding possible in some parts of California; King Tides may inundate flood-prone areas

The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for several areas, including San Francisco, North Bay Interior Valleys, and San Francisco Bay Shoreline Counties. Minor coastal flooding is anticipated, with the advisory in effect from 8 AM to noon PST on Tuesday.

Tidal levels are currently running up to 0.75 feet higher than tidal predictions, prompting concerns for potential flooding in low-lying areas. The high tide is expected to peak around 09:22 am PST on Tuesday, contributing to minor coastal flooding particularly in flood-prone spots adjacent to the San Francisco Bay.

The impacts of the advisory include flooding of lots, parks, and roads, although only isolated road closures are expected. Residents and commuters are advised to allow extra time for travel, as some roads may be temporarily closed during the advisory period. It is crucial not to drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth, as this poses significant safety risks.

Property owners in flood-prone areas are urged to take necessary actions to protect their belongings from potential water damage. The National Weather Service emphasizes the importance of staying informed about the advisory and adhering to safety instructions.
