Walnut Creek firearm brandishing leads to stolen, unregistered guns

( KRON ) — A Concord man who allegedly brandished a firearm at another driver on Interstate 680 in Walnut Creek last week was arrested on numerous gun and drug charges, the California Highway Patrol said Wednesday.

Aleksander Bluvshteyn, 31, of Concord, was identified as the suspect who brandished a firearm at another driver while traveling southbound on I-680 near Main Street just before noon on Jan. 25, authorities said. CHP Contra Costa Area officers could not locate the suspect following the incident.

Investigators took Bluvshteyn into custody near his home in Concord on Jan. 30, CHP said. A search warrant executed at his residence located multiple stolen or unregistered firearms, approximately 40 ounces of promethazine-codeine mixture and more than $45,000 in currency.

Bluvshteyn was booked into Contra Costa County Jail on felony weapons and drug charges.
