14-year-old arrested for multiple carjackings in Livermore

( KRON ) – A 14-year-old is accused of carjacking multiple people, the Livermore Police Department announced.

On March 12, the Livermore Police Department was alerted to a report of a suspect approaching a man at the downtown parking structure who was threatening to harm the man if he did not give the suspect his car. According to police, the suspect placed his hand in his pocket to mimic a gun. The victim subsequently drove away as the suspect kicked his car.

On March 16, Livermore PD said they received four additional reports of a suspect with a similar description as the first report who attempted the carjackings.

The Livermore Police’s Crime Prevention Unit identified the suspect from video surveillance and witness statements. The suspect was identified as a 14-year-old Livermore resident.

The minor was arrested at his school and transported to the Alameda County Juvenile Hall in San Leandro on March 21. He is facing multiple counts of attempted carjacking, attempted robbery and criminal threats.
