Warriors to Benefit from Kawhi’s Misfortune?

SEPT. 24 GAINING FROM SOMEONE ELSE’S PAIN? The Golden State Warriors missed the playoffs last season despite winning 46 games. However, following The Athletic’s report of Kawhi Leonard having an offseason “procedure” on his knee, the Stephen Curry-led team can leapfrog the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference standings.

According to the Athletic’s reporting , “Leonard underwent a procedure on his knee in the offseason. The franchise said today Leonard will be limited to strengthening his knee to start Clippers training camp, but team officials are optimistic about his progress.”

The Clippers’ “optimism” is another franchise’s conundrum. If the Clippers don’t start the season with Leonard, and history repeats itself, with the two-time NBA champion missing a chunk of regular-season games, perhaps the Warriors will take a significant lead on the Clippers.
