PG&E outage hits thousands of Bay Area customers

Thousands of Pacific Gas and Electric Co. customers in the Bay Area were hit by power outages Wednesday as a powerful cold front brought rain and gusty winds to the region.

An outage reported at 1:39 p.m. in the Mountain View area left over 4,600 customers without power, officials said. PG&E also did not immediately provide an estimate for power restoration in the area.
