Body found in Palo Alto park Friday morning

( KRON ) — A dead body was found in a Palo Alto park early Friday morning, according to the Palo Alto Police Department. The body of an adult man was discovered by a passerby in the Byxbee Park area of the Baylands Nature Preserve, police said.

Palo Alto PD dispatch got a call at around 8 a.m. reporting a possible dead body at the park, which is located at 2375 Embarcadero Road. Officers and Palo Alto Fire Department personnel responded and confirmed the man was deceased.

According to police, the passerby noticed the body in a muddy tidal area near the Byxbee Park parking lot. No obvious evidence of foul play has been uncovered and at this time, police say there is no evidence that a crime occurred, although an investigation is ongoing.
