‘Definitely won’t be dry’: Light rain returns to Bay Area ahead of multiple storms

Light rain and gusty winds are set to return to the Bay Area on Thursday ahead of multiple storm systems expected to arrive next week.

An offshore low-pressure system near the Northern California-Oregon border is driving a cold front into the region, bringing overcast skies, cooler temperatures and spotty showers throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service Thursday forecast discussion .

“So there are overcast skies and light rain forecast … it’s just going to be like showers, if you will, nothing too heavy in terms of rainfall,” Roger Gass, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service Bay Area, told SFGATE. He noted that San Francisco is expected to see less than a tenth of an inch of rain through Friday afternoon. “It just definitely won’t be dry.”…
