DALY CITY, Calif. ( KRON ) — It has been years in the making, but the Korean supermarket is finally opening this Friday at the Serramonte Mall in Daly City. Jagalchi is an all-in-one grocery store and restaurant experience that replaces the longtime JCPenney that closed in 2019.
The supermarket will span across 75,000 square feet, including bakery BASQUIA and restaurant POGU led by Michelin-star chef Tony Yoo . Ahead of its grand opening to the public on Friday, KRON4 took an exclusive tour of Jagalchi on Thursday (photos below).
Some of the grocery store’s highlights include a dedicated section for Korean beauty products. There is also a hot-and-ready, grab-and-go section where shoppers can pick up traditional Korean dishes like Tteok-bokki (simmered rice cake)…
