The Athletics are on the move, and owner John Fisher is brimming with confidence. They’ve temporarily settled in Sacramento while eyeing a new stadium in Las Vegas, which represents a major shift for the franchise. However, with expenses exceeding initial forecasts, Fisher is now working hard to gather the necessary funds to realize his vision.

Athletics Transition to New Home After 57 Years in Oakland

Fisher shared his confidence and positive outlook as the team kicked off its new chapter in Sacramento, leaving behind Oakland after 57 years. He’s excited about the team temporarily moving to Sacramento and can’t wait to see the passionate fans get involved during this phase.

Fisher said , “All I can say is, I’m excited about the fans that are going to show up at our games. In Oakland, we had sometimes very small crowds, but they were passionate, and they loved their team, and our crowds here, we’ll have 10 to 14,000 fans who are passionate about the game, passionate about watching the A’s and supporting their hometown team, at least for a while,” via Evan Drellich of The Athletic.

In September 2024, the Athletics finished their final season in Oakland. Starting in 2025, they’ll be playing at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento for three years while they look forward to their new stadium in Las Vegas, which is set to open in 2028…
